But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.
Joshua 24:15 (NLT)
As we are now in February and it is Black History Month, I wanted to pause and pay tribute to a portion of my family who has helped in this journey of faith we call life. I am the better because of my parent’s faith and in turn, their parents.
I am so glad I have grown in this walk, this faith journey, to understand a phrase that used to confuse me as a child. During service, I have an uncle who praises God and exhibits his faith by saying, “Bless Lord, Bless Jesus.” Now as an adult, I wholeheartedly comprehend and appreciate those words. Indulge me if you will and think about our world today, a situation in your home or at your job, or your heart’s desire that you are praying for in faith. Does that not pause and cause your heart and lips to say, “Bless Lord, Bless Jesus?”
The Brown Tribute 2019 was created with both joy and sorrow. Although we have gained three bundles of joy since the last video, heaven gained another angel.
