I have not traveled anywhere yet to create a video and my scheduled trip to Kashmir has been placed on hold due to safety concerns. What I did include was a couple of pictures from Papua New Guinea’s Independence and National Day celebration.
Eat
I have enjoyed many of Saturday luncheons and Sunday brunches that the fine restaurants in Delhi have to offer. Amongst my favorites: Shiro for it’s tantalizing Thai cuisine, The Kylan Experience for the allowance of a tour of Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, and Thai cuisine, and Set’s – a sensational environment of kitchens from around the world to include Northern and Coastal Indian, Thailand, China, Arabia, Europe and Japan. Now with this added past time, must come the addition to this section of my blog and life… Eat from henceforth will be E & E (Eat & Exercise). 🙂
New to my routine of Zumba and wogging (walking and jogging) is yoga. Let me just say, I have a new found respect that is described more in depth below.
Pray
A few of ladies on campus get together weekly to have soul food, figuratively and literally. It is a great fellowship for it allows us the opportunity to share God’s goodness as we live as expats.
Due to my difficulty with live streaming until recently, I have been getting continued encouragement through song. Many of you know how I LOVE music, although I stopped playing many, many years ago that is sometimes a decision I re-think (I am sure my mom will smile at this comment)… Anyways, last week “God’s Favor,” by Donald Lawrence was on my heart. My soul resonated with these phrases:
I know that you’ve been faithful
And when God get’s ready to bless you
There is nothing no man can do
God’s favor, more precious than life
During the connection difficulty with my church at home I sent out a request to a few friends to send me their sermon nuggets. This is one of the responses I received, “Why settle for good on your own when you can have great if you just wait on the Lord and all that he has for you?” Another way of saying, ‘God’s Favor,’ right? Enough said.
Love
Yesterday I was asked the question what I love about living in India. My answer to summarize, “The people, the colors, the culture.” I continue to appreciate the spirit of the people and their determination to live and be at peace.
Teach
Again, what a newfound appreciation of yoga! Before I thought it was all about a person’s flexibility and nailing the pose just right. Oh how flawed was my thinking… I take yoga twice a week. One session allows me to practice various poses so I can eventually take the poised Half Boat, Bow, Pigeon, Lotus and Auspicious Poses (to name a few). The other session focuses more on breathing and the teacher is a stickler for nailing moolabandha breathing – which I have yet to consistently figure out… I am actually a sight to see (or not) especially when I am asked to “tuck this in, pull this out, and stretch this out” at the same time. Needless to say, I plan to stick with it, learn the breathing while striking the perfect pose!
