While touring ND yesterday I read a few advertisements with this slogan. “Plant tress in the monsoon” – plant trees while the soil is being drenched with rain. Initially this slogan made no sense. The amount of rain a monsoon produces causes the ground to be unstable. Why then would one want to plant something that has the potential not to take root therefore canceling the possibility of growth? If one were to plant a tree in the monsoon, the tree would then require something that would cause stability. It was then that I had the “ah hah” moment.
When we experience monsoons in our life we have an option to plant a tree of faith – a faith that knows that God is before us and with us during this season of our life. We can allow the monsoon season to produce misery or an unmistakable faith that we serve and belong to our God who will make all grace abound.
May the words penned by Paul in Colossians 1:9-10 (NLT) encourage you or someone you know living THROUGH a monsoon season in their life.
“So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heart about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.”
Enjoy the tour. 🙂
